Agriculture Program

COBURWAS mobilizes funds through farming and livestock projects. About 80% of COBURWAS income comes from crop growing such as beans, maize, Irish potatoes, cassava etc, Livestock and poultry keeping.

Gardening

Members of COBURWAS and community dig on a voluntary basis. The harvested crops are sold to the community or used to provide meals at the nursery or the hostel.

Digging usually is organized every Wednesday, and parents and parent members usually participate. COBURWAS has rights to any square kilometers of land in the camp.

Livestock Project

Since January 2009, COBURWAS raises goats to resell at profit. The grazing land was donated by the Office of the Prime Minister.

The goat shed was constructed with funding from Global Healing. It is approximately 40 feet long and soon we will out-grow it and need to build a second shed.

Think Humanity raised money for goats and chickens. They also funded a house for two goat keepers, a chicken house and provide medication and care for livestock.
